About HAPPI Foundation

"Fulfilling our life's purpose is the
legacy we leave to our children."

After 15 years of quiet achievement, HAPPI Foundation is now moving towards a very exciting stage. The time has come to actively seek funds to establish the Project for large scale implementation. As of writing, present demand on the Project's limited human and financial resources has reached beyond capacity. On one hand, it is impossible to expect people's illnesses to wait for us. And this is a tragic fact, considering that six million people across the globe (including 38,000+ Australians) are destined to die this year of cancer, alone. On the other hand, the public demand assures us that we are proposing a service that is both worthy and needed.

The Project had been intentionally kept quiet for many years. In that time we have operated a small scale facility, with extremely modest lodgings [all donated], for in-patients and out-patients; we have diligently pursued promising research into the safe treatment of terminal illnesses; and we have done our homework: by researching the needs of patients and their families, so as to create a facility that not only meets those needs, but does so with compassion and for the purpose of humanitarian service.

It has long been anticipated that the release of news to the public would likely result in a strong response. This has indeed been the case. In fact, with what little efforts have been made to release some news of the Project, the public response has been literally overwhelming. It is a strong indication that the public urgently need a facility and the services such as what HAPPI Foundation propose.

For the time being, all efforts of those involved in the Project must be focused and attended towards raising the necessary funds to make this dream a reality. The longer we wait, the greater the death toll from cancer. As John F. Kennedy said: "If not us, who? If not now, when?"

To all those who have written support letters for the Project, we thank you with all our hearts. To those of you who are in need of medical care, please have faith and hope that the Universe is able to provide for you -- seek and you shall find. To those who are able to support our efforts -- efforts which stand to contribute to the society of which we are all part of -- we invite you to consider a capacity of generous contribution.

We can never know who cancer will next strike. One day it might be you, or someone very close to you, who needs a facility and services such as those proposed here. Although standardised treatments such as chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery are common place, access to other promising options is far from easy. From our extensive surveys it would seem that the public consider this to be a clear denial of human rights.

The only solution is to actively pursue safer alternatives, and make available sufficient information so that an educated decision can be made in the event of a life or death situation.

Thank you...

Notice

Please be advised that due to our present, limited resources being pushed beyond capacity, we have made a firm decision to temporarily close our doors to the public, as the time is upon us to focus all our efforts towards an intensive fund raising campaign. Quite frankly, we are presently unable to meet the public demand satisfactorily. This is indeed an extremely difficult decision. However, if we do not raise the much needed funds, we will never get anywhere, and the suffering will continue. Please understand that this weighs heavily on our hearts, but we know that we must actualise this Project and the facility as soon as possible. We are doing everything we can to concentrate our efforts into a successful campaign. The pressure is on us, although we are confident that funds will be forthcoming, as the wishes expressed by the public are certainly in favour of our support and the Project's success.

Stop Press

Below you will find some images of the proposed new site for the Project. God willing, funds will come forth to enable us to proceed. The facility we have in mind is extensive, with a 200 bed capacity (with room for patients to bring a carer or family member); commercial kitchen; full size dining; clinic rooms; research rooms; lecture rooms; auditorium; staff accommodation; extensive recreation facilities; wheelchair access throughout, and more. This is all situated on 350 magnificent acres, within 40 minutes drive of Coolangatta airport.

The site is very private and tranquil, with commanding, breath-taking panoramic views of the lush Tweed Valley. You can be assured that we are presently making every effort to secure the necessary funds. Our hope is that support is forthcoming before this opportunity is lost.

Please enjoy... and have a HAPPI day
