An Introduction to
the Healing Haven

"Medicine that heals, people who care,
and a ray of hope for all humanity"

Between Heaven and Earth

"To enter a Healing Haven, with its new holistic and compassionate approach to healing produces and expectant positve hope. This is what the HAPPI Foundation project is all about." [Dr. David Collison]

The Healing Environment Counts:

A quiet and peaceful country setting provides a most conducive and nurturing atmosphere for the crucial healing and recuperation phase. Being immersed in and surrounded by the serene beauty of Nature -- away from the pace and pollutants of city life -- is one of the many essential contributing factors to the process of recovery.

With serious illnesses (such as cancer) now being linked to toxic environments, poor diet, and stressful lifestyles, it makes sense that corrective treatment be ideally undertaken where the air and food are clean, and where every effort is made to remove stressful influences and replace them with positivity and hope. The idea is to remove any unwanted pressure, and encourage patients to focus their strengths on the beauty of life and their own wellbeing.

The Rising Death Toll:

Cancer, alone, is killing literally millions of people. In fact, approximately one Australian every 16 minutes; at least one American every minute; and world wide, more than 12 people per minute, [or one death every 5 seconds]! The options generally presented to most people involve strictly invasive medicine -- pharmaceutical, surgical, and technological. Whilst all things have their place, in many documented cases of terminal illness these methods are clearly proving to exacerbate matters . Sadly, the statistics are blatant evidence of this.

Clearly, nobody is winning the so-called war against cancer. Not only that, but invasive treatment is radical and produces serious side effects, with many patients unable to survive the stresses and harm caused by such treatment, let alone the cancer. Despite this, billions are still being spent, unquestionably, on 'orthodox' treatment, research, and education. Surely it's about time we changed our approach.

Another Path?:

But what if safe and effective treatments, not yet advocated by the mainstream, are already available for cancer? According to the testimonials of many recovered patients, there are. The latest research on combination medicine is concluding that many cancer deaths are unnecessary. And there are many other apparently 'incurable' diseases that are needlessly claiming lives every day, too.

Considering that other, well-tried options, with proven track records, are indeed in existence, at the very least they should be made readily available. You would then have the opportunity of making an informed and educated decision that feels right for you. In a life-or-death situation, you must feel comfortable and confident in the path you choose.

How to Decide:

For cancer sufferers to receive the very best and most appropriate medicine and care, all information and all forms of treatment must be made easily accessible. It's called 'freedom of choice.' Unfortunately, this is not the present case in our political-medical climate. However, at the end of the day, we are each responsible for our own lives -- how we live and how we die. Ultimately, the choice is yours. HAPPI Foundation is simply about providing sufficient education, thorough research, and a modern facility that covers options not yet readily available. This is the essence of the Healing Haven.

Although alternate options -- considered politically incorrect by some -- are not widely offered by the mainstream, they are being eagerly sought by an ever-increasing number of cancer patients. However, the facilities, education, experience, and skills in Australia are extremely limited at present. This forces those, who can, to seek urgent assistance overseas. Certainly, this is another area that HAPPI Foundation aims to urgently address.

True Compassion is Missing:

In addition, many people are complaining about the sometimes hostile and closed-minded attitude of some doctors (and the medical establishment in general) -- particularly when it comes to cancer and the mere mention of holistic options.

With medicine having become an enormous and profitable business, the service of medicine has, quite sadly, dwindled away. Compassion urgently needs to be returned to health care delivery. One of the best places to start, in this regard, is to remove medicine from the business sector and return it to that of service - the art of giving, rather than profiting.

Funding:

HAPPI Foundation is rapidly gaining momentum and is now undertaking an international fund raising appeal. Many business professionals, along with the local and international community, are already supporting the Project in whatever capacity they can. An encouraging interest is also being generated within celebrity circles. It is all of this that will lead to the world's first Healing Haven being established in Australia.

The prime objective at present is to raise sufficient funds to meet the genuine need being presented by the public. The sooner the Project is established, the sooner terminal patients seeking more hopeful options can begin their road to recovery. It is this pressing demand from the public, generated by both good, old fashioned word-of-mouth and a curious desire to return to Natural medicine, that has placed a certain urgency on the immediate success of HAPPI Foundation's objectives.

Peace Not War. Co-operation Not Opposition:

Please understand that the Project has no intention of alienating or competing with the orthodox medical establishment. On the contrary, not only do we intend working hand-in-hand with doctors of varying disciplines, but we also plan to provide training for medical professionals wishing to broaden their knowledge.

This Project is most definitely not about competing or fighting with opposing views. People's lives are being lost whilst medical battles, that are little more than ego and profit driven, are senselessly being fought. Our aim is to work together for the common good, so as to collectively make our hurting world a better place.

Integral to the vision is the bringing of a number of non-harmful treatments for cancer (and other degenerative and terminal diseases) to the visibility of the public eye, thus ensuring easy and ready access, and providing essential support and hope. Before this can be done, thorough, extensive research must be undertaken into alternate options.

We Must have Hope:

There must be a place where patients, considered terminal, can go - especially when they're given no other option than palliative care, or, worse, are sent home to get their affairs in order. This is when all the experts offer no hope, where all treatments have failed, and when no further orthodox procedures can be considered. It's also for when a patient wishes to choose an alternate approach before embarking upon any treatment regime.

For a sick and dying person, for both children and adults, a glimmer of hope is better than no hope at all. And if there is a facility wishing to provide every conceivable and safe option, and where compassionate staff refuse to give up, you should know about it.

What the Public have said:

Having interviewed and quizzed literally thousands on what they dislike about the hospital and medical systems in general, and what they would like to see in the ideal hospital, HAPPI Foundation have assembled strict criteria for meeting the purpose of giving people exactly what they really need. The idea behind the Healing Haven is to create a facility that in no way looks, sounds, feels, or smells like a hospital - a place where people truly enjoy to be. A place where they belong.

We Will Not Enter the War:

HAPPI Foundation wish to make it perfectly clear that we are not opposed to any form of medical technique. If a patient chooses chemical therapy for their cancer, that is their choice. They have our support. It is not anyone's place to enforce their opinion or judgement on decisions others make for themselves. But freedom of choice and access to options first requires information to be readily available. At present, this is part of the problem.

Whilst the cancer wars wage, and medical factions fight each other about who is right and wrong, innocent lives are being lost to academic debate. Our intention is to go about our work, produce the results, and make them available to the public. The choice then remains with you.
